Frutillar

Frutillar

Frutillar, located in the Los Lagos Region on the shores of Lake Llanquihue, is a town with deep German roots, renowned for its beauty, culture, and musical heritage. In 2017, it was designated a UNESCO Creative City of Music, the first in Chile to receive that distinction.

Its cultural heart is the Teatro del Lago, one of the most prominent performing arts venues in South America, hosting the International Music Season and many events year-round. The lakeside promenade features scenic walks, gardens, cafés, and stunning views of Osorno Volcano.

Frutillar also houses the German Colonial Museum, showcasing the legacy of German immigration in southern Chile, alongside traditional architecture and local cuisine. It’s a destination that beautifully blends nature, history, and the arts, with a peaceful and culturally rich atmosphere.
