The Coposa Salt Flat

The Coposa Salt Flat is located in the highlands of Chile’s Tarapacá region, over 3,600 meters above sea level, near the border with Bolivia. It is an extensive salt plain of great ecological value, home to various high-Andean bird species, including flamingos and coots. Beyond its natural richness, the salt flat is set within a landscape framed by volcanoes and mountain ranges, offering a breathtaking view of the Chilean highlands.
