Alerce Andino National Park
Alerce Andino National Park, located in the Los Lagos Region, protects vast native forests dominated by the ancient alerce tree, a southern Chilean symbol. The park is part of the Temperate Rainforest Biosphere Reserve of the Southern Andes.
It features trails that pass through rivers, lagoons, waterfalls, and dense vegetation, ideal for hiking and observing native flora and fauna. It’s home to species like the pudú, the Darwin’s fox, and many birds. Its proximity to Puerto Montt makes it a privileged gateway to the deep coastal mountain wilderness.
