Pumalín Douglas Tompkins National Park
Pumalín Douglas Tompkins National Park, located in the Los Lagos Region, is one of the largest and most pristine parks in southern Chile. It protects over 400,000 hectares of temperate rainforest, fjords, lagoons, and volcanoes like Chaitén and Michimahuida.
It is a conservation landmark, created through a private initiative by Douglas Tompkins and now part of the national park system. The park features trails through ancient alerce forests, waterfalls, and glaciers, with rustic and well-integrated infrastructure in areas like Caleta Gonzalo and El Amarillo. It’s an ideal destination for ecotourism, trekking, and immersion in untouched wilderness.
