Queulat National Park

Queulat National Park, in Chile’s Aysén Region, is a highlight along the scenic Carretera Austral. Its main feature is the Hanging Glacier, suspended dramatically between cliffs and feeding a waterfall that drops into a glacial lagoon. The park showcases lush evergreen temperate rainforest, glacial rivers, fjords, and thick forests of coihue, tepa, and giant nalca plants. Popular trails include the Enchanted Forest and the lookout to the glacier. Wildlife includes the pudú deer, Darwin’s frog, and the Magellanic woodpecker. The park’s rainy climate adds to its wild, verdant atmosphere.
