Altos de Lircay National Reserve
Altos de Lircay National Reserve, located in Chile’s Maule Region near San Clemente, spans over 12,000 hectares of native forest, rivers, hills, and pre-Andean trails. The area preserves plant species like coigüe, hualo, Andean cypress, and wild orchids, along with wildlife such as pumas, pudús, güiñas, foxes, and birds like the condor and the black woodpecker.
The park features trails of varying difficulty, from short walks to multi-day treks. Highlights include Laguna El Alto, the Valle del Venado Viewpoint, and the striking El Enladrillado, a vast, flat rocky plateau with a unique appearance. There are also picnic areas and designated camping zones depending on the season.
