Quintay
Quintay is a small cove located on the southern coast of Chile’s Valparaíso Region, about 45 km from Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. Surrounded by hills, forests, and deep blue sea, it is known for its natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and historical ties to fishing and whaling during the 20th century.
Its main attraction is the former Quintay Whaling Station, now an environmental interpretation center that preserves historical remnants and promotes marine education. The cove retains its traditional charm, with artisanal fishermen and seaside restaurants serving fresh seafood.
Quintay is also a great spot for scuba diving, coastal hiking, boat rides, and birdwatching. Its beaches—such as Playa Grande and Playa Chica—offer clean waters and scenic surroundings, perfect for relaxing far from the crowds.
